One of the better airport hotels at the London Heathrow Airport is the Sheraton Heathrow Hotel**** just a few minutes from most terminals by the LHR shuttle known as the "HOPPA". The rooms are comfortable, the public areas pleasant but it is the restaurant that is special with really good food and superb British beers! Pets are accepted too.

Located less than 1 mile from the newest terminal of the hub, this is a very nice airport hotel with good sound proofing and all the facilities you would expect. Free wifi in the public lounge (45 minutes max but enough to print out your boarding passes) but there is a charge for the wifi in the rooms. The rooms are attractive and the bathrooms nicely styled and equipped. It is convenient to the airport using that Hoppa shuttle although we do not find that the shuttle itself is particularly convenient and often requires that you freeze outside in cold weather. But its main claim to fame should be its very nice restaurant with surprisingly good food and really fantastic British beers on tap. Even if you are just passing through, you can enjoy the famous quality of one of their small breweries without having to head to downtown London.

Club guests enjoy the comfort of a king-size bed, a superb picture from the LCD screen television, and unlimited access to the Club Lounge throughout your stay, which includes breakfast, evening canapés, all-day refreshments, and complimentary access to Internet-enabled workstations if you can get them to work. This is not one of the best or most enjoyable club lounges we have experience with limited goodies and limited hours in which these food stuffs are served. We ended up going down to the lounge where we were able to find one computer that worked. So it has to be said, based on our experience, that some additional attention to basic details is in order. Another of those details is the rather poor porter help with your bags when you arrive. There are no nice luggage carts or even the usual elaborate 4 poster dollies. Just one door man with a cart who may or may not be available when you arrive. So expect to lug your luggage yourselves.

The hotel has 426 rooms. All guests enjoy 24-hour access to Sheraton Fitness center. Sheraton Fitness is a facility to make you feel good. With 24-hour access, you can fit your exercise routine into your own schedule. Conceived by fitness enthusiasts for fitness enthusiasts, the cardio and strength equipment has the most innovative technology available. Although we found that we got quite a workout dragging our luggage to and from our room.

For those arriving by car, there is ample parking for up to 236 cars. Central London is only 16 miles away and the Heathrow Express runs every 15 minutes from all terminals, taking you to the heart of the city within a matter of minutes. Or you can go the other way and be in Windsor and Eton in less time and enjoy the charm of both the town and village. There are many small villages just off the beaten track in this area and Windsor Great Park is not to be missed. At this point the Thames is quite small and rural. There are pubs and restaurants on its banks, boats to rent. Even for a few hours between planes it offers a nice, quick look and old England.
